Understanding The Need

The first thing I did when starting with Seed was use the app and speak with active users. I also created a User Journey Map to better understand the points of friction that users were having when they started using the application, as well as the issues they continued to encounter while using it. This way, I could identify what needed to be changed to improve the user experience.

This was an essential tool because it moved beyond abstract data to tell the real story of the user's interaction. By visually plotting every step of their experience, from onboarding to daily use

Complete Re-design

When I started with Sed Hypermedia, they were rebranding their name and image, as well as creating an overall change in the aesthetic for their application. This change was intended to help users understand its features better. They shifted from an account profile full of documents to an organized account homepage, where all documents were organized like a website. This way, the distribution of information could be done in a way that is much more understandable for readers, while creating a customizable space for users to publish documents valuable to their community.

Product Maping

Throughout the process of adding more features to the application for documents, it was important to keep track of the products. A product map was made to understand the flow of actions and features: how they were connected to one another, and if there was a feature that wasn't working correctly and affecting others. This map could also help to plan out new features to see how they would connect to the existing ones.

Initial Re-design

I was onboarded at a time where the company was rebranding their name and image, as well as creating an overall change in the aesthetic for their application. This change was intended to help users understand its features better. They shifted from an account profile full of documents to an organized account homepage, where all documents were organized like a website. Since working with websites, it was important that all the features related to the website, like commenting, were translated for web use on both mobile and desktop. We want users to navigate and comment on sites anywhere. This was so that the sites our users create could become communities of growth and knowledge.
